RP Recap – Project Revision

After a period of instability, the Academy building finally settled into its new form, allowing classes to resume once again. With the structure now stable, the group gathered to investigate the lingering mysteries surrounding the strange temporal “Cogs” that had appeared above Gallifrey and the disturbances they seemed to cause across Vorlaxion.

Their first destination was the Eye of Harmony.

With careful coordination, the Lord President and the Castellan prepared to open the Eye while Lady Rowan and Lord Conundrum established a controlled data vent from the Matrix, hoping to prevent the sudden data cut off that had previously triggered dangerous temporal reactions. The plan worked. When the Eye was opened and later sealed again, the expected catastrophic reaction never came.

However, scans revealed something unexpected. The Cogs were synchronizing with the Eye’s temporal output. Rather than destabilizing Gallifreyan systems, the massive constructs appeared to be working alongside the Eye, drawing on its power or communicating through its temporal emissions. This raised unsettling questions. If the Cogs were not hostile, then what were they doing and why?

To investigate further, the group descended into the Cloisters, the ancient and unsettling depths beneath the Citadel where the Matrix interfaces with the physical world. There they encountered eerie signs of interference. The Cloister bells rang ominously, cloister wraiths stirred, and a repeating announcement echoed through the halls:

“Project Revision Initiated.”

Even stranger, the voice used by the system sounded familiar. Lord Conundrum soon realized why. It was his own voice, generated by a simple AI voice program he had once created for public announcements in Vorlaxion. The discovery was alarming. Somehow, that voice and the systems connected to it had become part of something far larger.

Searching the Matrix revealed hidden files referencing the Cogs’ blueprints and a system described as a “Temporal Correction System.” The implication was staggering. The Matrix itself may have initiated Project Revision in order to correct or prevent some future catastrophe.

But the mystery deepened further. References in the files pointed toward two places tied to the ongoing disturbances: The Place of Knowledge and the Place of Worship.

Realizing the second referred to the local church where time cracks had previously appeared, the group hurried there to investigate. Inside the building they discovered a cryptic parchment containing a riddle hinting that someone or something was quietly altering history itself.

While they tried to interpret the message, reality began to shift around them. Benches vanished. The air shimmered with unstable temporal energy. The cracks in time widened. Then, before anyone could react, the church itself disappeared. Not destroyed, not collapsed, but erased, as if it had never existed at all.

The group retreated quickly as the temporal distortions intensified. They were left with more questions than answers. Was the Matrix behind these revisions? Were the Cogs merely its tools? Or was another unseen hand manipulating history from the shadows? As the group dispersed to begin their own investigations, theories continued to circulate about who or what might truly be behind the revisions. Among the more colorful suggestions, Mr. Winters briefly raised the possibility of the Meddling Monk, noting the renegade Time Lord’s long history of attempting to reorganize history for his own purposes. Whether the Monk had anything to do with the strange events unfolding remained uncertain, but the idea lingered as yet another thread in an increasingly tangled web of temporal intrigue.

For now, one thing is clear. History on Vorlaxion is changing, and someone or something is rewriting the board before anyone else even realizes the game has begun.

And somewhere out there, Project Revision continues.
