What began as an ordinary gathering soon turned into something far more unsettling.
In the archives beneath Vorlaxion, a collection of Time Lords, scholars, and investigators assembled around a recovered data drive salvaged from the late Lord Veyron’s hidden facility. Present were Lady Chronotis, Lord President Chronotis, Rain Chronotis, Lord Conundrum, Lord Darkfyre, Lord Maltheus, Lord Winters, and Lord Serpentine, each bringing their own knowledge and theories to the mystery.
The atmosphere was light at first. There were jokes about elevators, aging Time Lords, missing stasers, and even Lady Chronotis’s cravings for pickles and chocolate ice cream. Yet beneath the humor lingered the knowledge that they were about to uncover secrets hidden behind an Omega Black clearance level.
And Omega Black secrets are never simple.
Accessing Project Harmonia
The first challenge was simply getting into the files. When the terminal demanded presidential authorization, Lord President Chronotis began testing old access codes. After several failed attempts, one sequence finally unlocked the archive. The terminal immediately began revealing fragments of a classified project:
Research objective approved.
Integration trials commencing.
Subject compatibility exceeds projections.
Warning: Matrix synchronization unstable.
The words alone were enough to send concern through the room. Lady Chronotis immediately noticed the significance of the project’s name. Harmonia. Harmony. Integration. Compatibility. Whatever this project had been, it appeared focused on merging two things together. No one yet knew what.
Recovering the Archive
Much of the archive had been damaged by corruption.
As the group worked through the data, they successfully restored a significant portion of the records. Their efforts revealed a much larger section of the archive than had previously been accessible, allowing the investigators to continue piecing together the mystery. Meanwhile, Lord Winters tackled another damaged file and successfully restored most of an equipment manifest. The recovered records revealed equipment requisitioned directly under presidential authority despite repeated warnings that failure rates were unacceptable.
The project had continued anyway. That fact alone troubled everyone.
Theories Begin
As more information surfaced, theories multiplied. Lord Winters proposed that Harmonia might have been an attempt to manipulate probability itself. Drawing upon the ancient Schrödinger’s Cat paradox, he suggested that researchers may have been attempting to force reality toward desired outcomes.
Lord Maltheus recalled experimental technologies designed to select favorable future outcomes and apply them to the present, warning that such practices skirted dangerously close to violations of the Laws of Time. Lord Serpentine wondered whether the project might somehow connect to ancient experiments involving TARDIS capsules and humanoid manifestations.
At first, the idea sounded absurd. Then the evidence began to point in exactly that direction.
The Active Subject
The next recovered file contained personnel records.
Almost every name had been erased. Only one entry remained.
Status: Active.
Not alive. Active. The distinction immediately caught everyone’s attention. A containment tank discovered earlier in the investigation had been sized for a humanoid occupant. Combined with references to creatures, failed experiments, and unstable integrations, the implications became increasingly disturbing.
Lord Darkfyre voiced what many were already thinking. What if whatever had occupied that tank had escaped?
The Human and the Capsule
Discussion turned toward the mysterious Type-40 capsule encountered during earlier investigations. Lady Chronotis recalled her own psychic connection to the strange TARDIS. During that encounter she had sensed overwhelming loneliness, sadness, and a desperate need to repair something she could never quite identify. Those memories suddenly seemed much more important.
Lord Winters proposed a startling theory. What if Harmonia had successfully fused a Gallifreyan mind with TARDIS technology? Not merely a pilot bonded to a capsule through telepathic circuits. Something far deeper. Something irreversible.
Lord Maltheus expanded upon the idea, suggesting the possibility of a unified lifeform created from both Gallifreyan and TARDIS. A gestalt consciousness. One being. Two halves. The room fell increasingly silent as the theory began fitting more and more of the evidence.
The Footage
Another recovered file contained degraded security footage. Although badly damaged, several crucial details remained visible:
- Laboratory personnel fleeing.
- Emergency alarms sounding.
- Containment systems activating.
- A TARDIS capsule visible within the facility.
The capsule matched the same mysterious Type-40 connected to previous incidents involving dreams, symbols, murders, and temporal anomalies. The discovery immediately linked the old facility to events occurring centuries later. Or perhaps earlier. With time travel, chronology becomes a matter of perspective.
The Final Recording
The last surviving file contained a chilling audio transcript. The room fell silent as the terminal spoke:
The integration was successful. Far more successful than anyone anticipated.
The bond could not be separated. We attempted to reverse the process.
We were too late. One fled. One remained. Neither was whole.
No one liked what those words implied. If the fusion had succeeded, then a single being had somehow been divided. One half escaped. One half remained. Neither survived intact.
Lord Conundrum found himself wondering what such an existence would feel like. What kind of suffering would result from having one’s consciousness torn apart across space, time, and dimensions? Lady Chronotis quietly reflected upon the sadness she had felt through her connection to the capsule. Perhaps she had already experienced part of the answer.
The Final Revelation
Just as the group prepared to leave, the terminal suddenly activated on its own. No one touched the controls. No one entered a command. The screen simply lit up.

The room froze. The connection was real. The active subject and the mysterious Type-40 capsule shared nearly identical biodata signatures. Project Harmonia had not merely theorized a bond between a Gallifreyan and a TARDIS. It had created one. And somewhere out there, at least part of that experiment was still active.
Departing Questions
As the meeting concluded, everyone left with more questions than answers. Lord President Chronotis planned to issue warnings and begin a wider investigation. Lord Darkfyre recommended leaving the archive running in hopes that additional files might eventually be recovered. Lord Conundrum intended to monitor reports of unusual sightings. Lord Winters began contemplating TARDIS detection systems and forgotten repair bays. Lord Maltheus suggested locating either half of the divided entity. Lady Chronotis resolved to revisit the journals she had written during her psychic connection to the capsule, believing they might contain overlooked clues.
The mystery remains unsolved.
Somewhere beyond the archives, beyond the bunker, and perhaps beyond conventional time itself, an experiment once classified Omega Black may still be walking free. Neither whole. Neither complete. And very likely searching for the missing half of itself.
